It was a fun first month of the new school year for our preschoolers! We all began by getting to know each other and learning about our classrooms and the school rules. The month continued with learning about our families and making fall family apple trees in which we learned about one to one correspondence when placing apples on our trees to represent all of our family members. We talked about all of the feelings we might have when at preschool and out in our world and celebrated our friends and happiness with a Teddy Bear picnic during which we practiced patterning when getting our snack ready for the picnic. It was a yummy Teddy Graham and marshmallow snack! The month continued as we learned the letters A-D making Alpha Friends and learning how to make each letter and the sounds of each letter. We also learned the colors Blue, Green and Red as we moved into starting to learn about the season of fall. The month ended with a Fall Family field trip to Kroll's Farm to spend time with each other, visit with the animals, learn how corn grows and take a fun hayride! What a busy, super-fun first month of school!
