September was a month of learning, making new friends and settling into our classrooms! We all learned about each other, our families and our feelings. The sounds of Letters A, B, C and D were learned and we painted, practiced writing our names, cutting, made super-hero capes and family trees. We practiced our patterning when we made our Teddy Bear picnic snack and learned to read a bar graph when we graphed our favorite color apples that we brought in. Some of us even did some baking of cookies for Letter C and doughnuts for Letter D. We ended the month by learning about changes happening outside during the season of fall and a fall family field trip to Krolls's Farm. It was a fun, educational time for all of us!
During the month of October, we will be learning the sounds of Letters E, F, G, and H, learning about our Five Senses while we continue exploring the season of fall and Halloween. We will end with our Halloween parties and singing for our families. This month we are excited to be welcoming Amy Logan, the author of The Girl With A Cape. We all read her story in the month of September when we talked about being Super-Friends and made our Super-hero capes! It will be another fun month of learning for all of us.
